I grew up in Southern CA at the base of the Angeles National Forest and spent numerous hours growing up in the forest. Upon High School graduation I was hired as a wildland firefighter on the Angeles and I worked in Fire and Fuels Management for the duration of my Forest Service career. During my time in the FS I learned and studied about land management practices and the impact we can have on the environment. Having gained land management experience I firmly believe in a “light hand on the land” approach to managing the urban and wildland environments, I now carry that experience into public health pest management.
I now live in Virginia with my family, own a small business and work in public safety in the Greater Washington metro area.

I grew up just west of Minneapolis, Minnesota… the state with a mosquito as its state bird. Upon purchasing a home 7 years ago in Andover, MN my wife and I determined that there had to be a way to effectively reduce the amount of mosquitoes in our heavily wooded yard. A few years later Mosquito Squad of Minnesota was started and life has never been the same.

Author: Jennifer Imler, Office Manager, Mosquito Squad of Greater Washington, D.C.
I have lived in numerous states and cities, but consider Washington, D.C. to be my hometown. In June 2009, I moved back to the D.C. area from Pittsburgh, PA and accepted my current position. Working for Mosquito Squad is a wonderful experience full of unique opportunities, new experiences, and also full of learning.
Currently, I am also a student at the American University in Washington, D.C. studying Communications Studies with an emphasis in Media and Society. My minor is an interdisciplinary program, that I designed to suit my academic and career needs, comprised mostly of Marketing and Business Administration, with some Management and Economics added to the mix.
In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, experiencing culture, reading history books and the classics, learning new information, being creative and artistic, and cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles.
